Discover massive cliffside chambers, the 22-meter stalagmite, and Canyamel Bay views.
Cuevas de Artà are among the highest cavern systems in Europe. The natural entance is set 50 meters above sea level on a rugged sea cliff overlooking the Bay of Canyamel. Unlike the self-guided trails on the eastern coast, the tour here is fully guided. It presents massive vaulted halls with classical names such as Hell, Purgatory, and The Theatre.
The geological highlight is the famous Queen of Columns, a towering 22-meter stalagmite that rises from the floor of the central chamber. It nearly touches the vaulted ceiling. Multilingual guided tours depart every 30 minutes, meaning advanced reservations are rarely required to secure entry.
The natural cliffside entrance is reached via a massive, steep stone staircase. This is a cliff you must hike up. The steps can become slippery during humid or rainy periods, making it highly unsuitable for strollers, wheelchairs, or travelers with limited mobility.
The caves offer a discounted tariff of €13.00 (~$14.17) for Balearic Islands residents. To claim this rate, you must present a valid DNI or official residence certificate at the entrance desk.
